“Shadow Swimmer” – raw live performance
┃ lyrics · skin & thunder
all the future and his past
wonder why this never lasts
the lightning behind her eyes
YOU WONDER WHY SHE WOULDN'T LET HIM GO
HE'S A FLOWER THAT LEARNED TO GROW IN THE
DARK..NESS
DIVE IN TO SHADOWS AND DIRT
HEED THE MONSTER CALLING
STAY ON YOUR FEET AND WAIT
I'll stand on my feet in OWE
I'll stand on my feet and wait
IT'S WHERE WE STAND IN A CLEAR ESSENCE
The ground seems moving under the trunks
Chills down my spine
┃ the man · the ghosts · the grace
Jude Barrett (Simon Payot) – 50 years, guitar and voice. For decades a professional sideman for renowned Swiss singers, stages like Francofolies de La Rochelle, La Cigale (Paris), Francomania (Bulle). Today he steps into his own name: a songwriter who carries the weight of those who suffer and those who rescue.
His music breathes between whispered, fragile ballads (in the spirit of Buckley) and distorted, raw rock (the catharsis of PJ Harvey, the strangeness of Radiohead). Black and white videos, live taks. He has worked for years with victims of violence, police, firefighters, emergency medical teams — and his songs are the echo of that frontline.
“I don't write to comfort. I write to talk about what's usually silenced.” – Jude Barrett
